Many Christians believe that abortion
is murdering an unborn baby, which makes them become even more against it.
While others may argue the point of conception and the viability of a fetus,
there is no doubt that the Bible does condemn the taking of another person’s
life. Which opens the question of whether or not abortion is a wrong/ wright
depends on whether or not you believe aborting a fetus is murder. Being the
creator of heaven and earth, God knew us before he even placed us in our
mother’s womb. This led some Christians to take the scripture to mean that an
abortion may prevent a person God wanted to create from entering the world,
making it wrong. Psalm 51:5 says “Behold, I was shapen in iniquity; and in sin
did my mother conceive me,” (James, 2012). This means, we were born sinners
from the moment our mother conceived us. Therefor we will all make mistakes in
life.
Many
people think that they have the ultimate say over what happens to their bodies.
However, the Bible says that God has the ultimate say and the reason for that
is because your body is God’s temple. Others argue that God gave us free will
which means we are allowed to make a choice with our bodies. However, free will
does not always mean we are free from sin. Whether you believe abortion is a
sin or not, it is still biblical to care for our bodies. In 1 Corinthians
6:12-13, it states and I quote “You may say ‘I am allowed to do anything.’ But
I reply, ‘Not everything is good for you.’ And even though ‘I am allowed to do
anything,” I must not become a slave to anything…But our bodies were not made
for sexual immorality. They were made for the Lord, and the Lord cares about
our bodies.” (N.L.T Bible, 2012). So we should still have a choice in life
especially when it comes to our rights because although it’s against the Lord,
he will forgive us of our sins with a word of prayer.
The
Bible is clear that God will forgive sin, and He sent His Son, Jesus Christ, to
die for that sin. In 1 John 1-9 he said, “If we confess our sins to him, he is
faithful and just to forgive us and to cleanse us from every wrong,” (N.L.T
Bible, 2012). “The question then often arises, especially when policy making is
concerned: “What should be done about this issue, e.g. the abortion issue,
given that there is heated conflict about it?” Some argue that such conflict is
a moral externality, i.e. a mere matter of politics and not morally relevant.
However, others reply that, since the political circumstance of conflict
significantly affects people’s lives and sets constraints on what policies or
decisions are feasible, it is not a mere matter of politics, but ethically
relevant as well,” (Abortion, 2001) .

i am not for abortion nor am i against it. many people argue that its unfair to the child because they never got a chance to experience life, but what's unfair is a women giving birth to child and mistreating them. now you may say give up for abdoption but its people out here that get kids for benefits not because they want to give them a better life. i do believe that if you make your bed you should lay in it because it is you accepting your responsbilitites. there's no right or wrong answer but everyone deserve the benefit of the doubt.
